Excessive tightening of the lock screws can cause the body of the lock to warp, resulting in a stuck handle and bound latch. Below are instructions on which screws to loosen in order to unbind the lock effectively.
- Loosen the screws located on the battery compartment at the back of the lock, and then remove the compartment. Note that one of the screws is situated behind the batteries.
- Next, carefully loosen the three screws on the back plate. This should allow the handle to return to its original position, effectively unjamming it.
